Interview to H.E. Jaime LASSO del Castillo, Ambassador of Panama

About 3.5 Million current populations in Panama.
The country is slightly small compared to South Korea;
one of the busiest Latin American countries is Panama.
The Panama ambassador had appearance of
international gentleman. Panama has known with
the Panama Canal. We could learn the beauty of
nature in Panama by the meeting with him. He has
been in Korea for a year and 8 month. He had been
in trouble because of the cultural difference, but now
he, his wife and two children are learning the
traditional Korean culture.
The population of Panama is about 3,500,000.
About 300 Koreans live in and most of them are
working for the Korean trade companies. The
ambassador introduced Panama as an
internationally busy country connectsNorth and
SouthAmerica like Singapore. 11 Panamas live in
Korea. 2-3 scholarshipstudents are studying
supported by the government. Panama women who
are married to U.S. soldiers have live in Korea.
The Ambassador talked about the multicultural
society in Korea. He said that it has been 25 years
since Korea has been developed, and he said the
generations are divided by the development. He said
he think the generation after the development is
active and positive on accepting foreigners and
multicultural but the other generation is not. And he
said the language problem caused this situation. And
he said Koreans look like they are satisfied with their
life and the Korean government.
He praised Korea mentioning that even though
they don¡¯t know about Korea, once they visits
Korea, they would like Korea.
But he also mentioned the difficulties in the
banking system. Because of the different banking
system, it is very difficult part on living in Korea.
Also he said that as foreigner, going to hospitals and
taking a lease on a house is too expensive.
He said Korean have strong national pride. He
mentioned about the president Myeongbak Lee. He
describes the president as a powerful leader among
many leaders from powerful nations. Finishing the
interview he stress the importance of education and
national pride to make Korea developed.
